Use the TIME method to sequence medical events, control verb tenses and present the patient’s journey clearly.

Lesson 4: Writing with Clinical Clarity

Apply the CLEAR method to transform vague or informal case notes into precise, professional clinical language.

Lesson 5: Constructing Accurate Sentences

Use the SAFE method to identify sentence fragments, improve grammatical accuracy and create reader-friendly sentences.

Lesson 6: Creating Focused and Coherent Paragraphs

Use the FOCUS and FLOW methods to group related information and connect ideas logically.

Lesson 7: Writing Effective Referral Letters

Learn how to introduce the patient, establish the purpose immediately and communicate the information required for continued care.

Lesson 8: Writing Effective Discharge and Transfer Letters

Organise admission details, treatment, clinical progress and follow-up requirements according to the reader’s needs.

Lesson 9: Editing and Improving Your Letter
